It is often said that dreams never came true but if you have dedication, passion to achieve your goal definitely dreams come true and M L. Convent is the living example of it. Eighteen year ago Captain V.K. Verma had a dream to open an English medium school where all the students specially who are financially weak could get education through English medium which was impossible for a common man because of the high fees in missionary school.
Captain Verma a man of strong will, has made it alive. His life History is as follows:
He was born in Kanpur at Unnao district on 15 July 1934 He was the youngest of all his six brothers and sisters. Late Ram Chandra Verma. Late Krish Kumar Srivastava, Shri Vishnu Narayan Srivastava, Shri Jagat Narayan Srivastava and Shri Ram Kumar Verma were his elder brothers.
He was very hard working and sincere. During his childhood he came to Allahabad with his elder brother and sister-in-law and started getting education from C.A.V. Inter college where he was much impressed with some teachers. He decided to do something elegant.
Although he was lovable in his family but sour and sweet experiences of life had made him a man of strong will. After the retirement of his father his elder brother Vishnu Narayanan Srivastava took all the responsibility of the family and made all efforts to make them educated.
In the year 1950-51 when he was studying in class 11 he had started to earn livelihood and had passed Intermediate with science stream. In the year 1956 he took admission in M.Sc. (Botany) in Allahabad University . To earn his livelihood he had joined as a professor in a homeopathic college of Allahabad with the help of Late Jalpa Prasad where he began to teach Science to non science students at Rs. 75/ month at the same time taking the education of homeopathic he got the doctorate degree in 1950.
Easing all the struggles he passed M.Sc examination in 1960 and was appointed at the post of demonstrator in K.P. College and he went Kamplee in Nagpur for the N.C.C. training in the same year and he returned from their as a second lieutenant and was promoted to the post of professor in K.P. College. After that he got married on 10th May to Mrs. Sheel Kumari M.A. (Hindi) L.T. the then vice principal of Adarsh Kanya Vidyalaya, Allahabad.
She has been working their as a principal from 1968 to 1994 in K.P. Girls Inter College which was upto high school at that time from art stream. In the same period it got recognition of Science-stream upto 12th std.
On 2 Feb. He joined Short service commission in Pune at Puranda. and after taking training of 6 month he became lieutenant and was sent to join N.C.C. on behalf of K.P. College After completing his tenure in 1969 he come back and started giving shape to his dream (fulfilling his dream) as a result of his effort the first branch of M L Convent was started from his residence at Attarsuiya the teaching was started in English Medium.
The Second branch of M L Convent was started in 1975 from his own residence located at Meerapur which proved as a great school among others.
The third branch of M L Convent was started in 1984 at Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar in Kareli . After that he never looked back again and one another branches of M L Convent was opened in Teliyarganj Mehdauri which has bean a science college in English medium upto higher Secondary classes but Captain Verma was not satisfied with it and thought that the branches of M L Convent should be spread all over the city so one more branch was started in 1995 at Baghambari Gaddi in Allahpur but he had a wish that here must be another branch of this school to keep the convenience of student in mind so students would not have to go far away to gain education.
He had opened a branch of M L Convent at Karelabagh in large space which is affiliated to C.B.S.E. Delhi and had affiliation of Science and Commerce upto 12 and had unique identity in the city.
All the schools are English Medium and are running in neat & Clean buildings parents are always eager to provide education to their wands.
In our school for small kids coloured chairs tables different types of swings aree arranged For Science education modern laboratories are arranged upto class 6 to 12 Beside Library Games field, Maths lab facility is available from class III.
There is arrangement of Class library to enhance the general knowledge of the students.
A big screen is arranged in the computer classes so that students can see & learn and through this different kinds of C.D's to enhance their Knowledge and this way most of the development have been done in all the branches of school. Recently in all the branches well equipped computer classes have been established
Computer education with big L.C.D. is arranged in all the primary classes.
Keeping the health care of student dust free board is arranged in every class.
To make the education of geometry easier various large equipments of geometry are also arranged to simplify the difficult question of geometry.
Development of school is our chief motto for the mental physical development of student.
Science Seminar Debate Competition, Sanskrit events are held in our school.
But we are always trying our best to do something elegant to make the teaching interesting & encouraging for the students.
We have been providing all the facilities like electricity, drinking water, rain water harvesting to all the schools to make them self dependent.
